as for how to learn movement, i'd focus on one IL you really like and grind it as far as possible, regardless if its a custom, an any%, whatever. you will save a lot of pain and bad habits if you focus on movement before worrying about strats. This will take a long period of time, but dustforce is a game that requires a ton of commitment to speedrun and even more to get a good time. early on the majority of timesave will be from just not dying, but better strats is what will save time in the long run.
once you improve and feel ready to step it up, start improving strats. once this has been done for all the levels and you feel confident in movement, time to start runs. It also has a redesigned overworld system that makes the game friendlier to newer players, and more exciting to veterans.

if you need help with this, check like ~top 50 on a leaderboard for a level and you'll usually find something pretty doable. Dustforce DX is a free update to the game, which includes 16 new maps, 109 community-made maps, a new music track, bug fixes, and support for Steam Trading cards. find strats that CONSISTENTLY allow you to complete the level in a reasonable amount of time.
getting top 500/100/50/10/etc times on every level will help your movement immensely but will not make you a better fullgame runner. Once you have that figured out, start finding some safe strats for every level and IL them. if you're having to even think about movement while playing the more difficult levels, you wont be able to do them consistently. the most important thing i would recommend doing first is just getting your movement as good as possible. First of all i would really recommend against trying to copy IL strats or just watching sivade's run and doing everything he does.
